Factions Reset

The next Factions map will release on Saturday February 4th @ 3:00 PM EST / 6:00 AM AEST / 8:00 PM GMT.

Map Details

  • 21-day map – 7 days of Grace & 14 days of TNT
  • 15 man factions
  • 3-second cannoning
  • 25 Chunk Buffers
  • Faction Shields last 12 hours
  • 350 Power per player
  • Unlimited Roster Size, unlimited kicks per day, max of unlimited at one time
  • Mining Spawner costs change from being free to costing 60% of their shop price on Saturday @ 3:00 AM EST
  • TNT drop rates changed from Grace drop rates (50%) to Raiding drop rates (100%) on Saturday @ 3:00 AM EST
  • Faction Shields will NOT be disabled from 12 PM - 5 PM EST on the last day of the map
  • 8 grinding areas of 18 Silverfish Spawners in the Mycelium World (Reached via /warp Mycelium and exited via End Portal)
  • Account Sharing Allowed
  • No Regens
  • Mining, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mycelium, and Spawner Economy
  • Limited Custom Enchants
  • Bow Boosting Enabled
  • 4 custom worlds along with the overworld with a border of 10,00 x 10,00 giving 20 corners – The End, The Nether, RedWorld, and GreyWorld
  • During grace, TNT & Creeper Eggs will be disabled
  • During the first 30 minutes of the map, Faction Fly will be disabled

Longer Map Length

We will be hosting a map that is 3 weeks long, and as a result there will be some changes being made:

  • The rule page has been revamped to be a lot more simplified and lenient as a result of the removal of payouts, thus making the gamemode more casual.
  • The amount of Boss keys and Koth keys you'll receive through various methods has been reduced.
  • The frequency of Raid Events and the scheduled times for it has been changed. Rewards have also been updated.
  • Rewards for FvF and RO events will be modified.
  • The Economy has been nerfed.
  • World borders will be increased to 10k x 10k blocks to encourage Wilderness bases.
  • Shields will no longer drop on the last day of the map.
  • Sharpness 7, Protection 7 and Unbreaking 7 will no longer be available in game or on kits.
  • Infinite Obsidian, Wild Fly, and Printable Gens have been disabled.
  • Spawner Boosters and KoTH Starters will be rarer to obtain.
  • Factions will still be able to set a shield after the Grace period ends, however there will be some restrictions. It will take 16 hours for a shield to activate after being chosen, and you may change your shield time again but must wait another 16 hours after last setting it to re-set it.
  • When a faction loses 40% of their value during a raid, they will be given a 30 minute shield, protecting them from being raided for this time period.


New Features and Revamps

To accommodate the new relaxed nature that is intended for Factions, we've made a number of revamps to existing features, as well as adding some new features that we think you'll love!

Mycelium

Instead of having to build an end portal to reach the Mycelium World, we will be adding a /warp Mycelium command allowing you to teleport there instead! You will be teleported to a spawn area where PvP is not enabled, where you can jump down from into the PvP enabled area below in your own time. The exit will remain the same and will teleport you to our new /warp arena.

Event Key, Quiz Key & Chat Quizzes

We are adding a lot more chat quizzes to keep it interesting and fresh! As well as this, you will now receive a Quiz Key whenever successfully completing a chat quiz that you can open at /warp crates. Additionally, you will now also receive Event Keys when winning Sumo Tournaments and Bow Boost Battles - this is to replace the old Arcade Keys.

FFA Revamp

We have added new arenas to FFA! In addition, we have also added more kits which include MCSG, Classic, GSet, and OITC (one in the chamber/quiver). FFAs will now include a world border that shrinks within a few minutes to encourage active fighting and less camping for some kits.

Rule Page Revamp

As previously stated, the Rules page has had a large revamp to make the realm more relaxed with fewer harsh punishments. There have been a lot of changes, so be sure to read up on the rules before the season begins to avoid any misunderstanding:

  • Removed Rule #5 - no merging
  • Removed Rule #13 - giving wealth
  • Removed Rule #20 - using scripts to do /f who
  • Removed Rule #25 - Using any type of detectors
  • Removed Rule #29 - payout qualifications
  • Removed Rule #46 - backcountering & shooting from a worldborder
  • Removed Rule #18 and added to the top of rule page
  • Removed Rule #41 - Disallowing left/right shooting and having barrels/backboards needing to be claimed
  • Changed punishment for Rule #15 to a 3-day ban instead of a strike
  • Rule #11 - You are now allowed to be in 2 different factions on 2 different accounts. This means that you are allowed to faction hop whether it be to PvP, help another faction defend, etc.
    - Removed the note stating that we will punish if a faction willingly lets another faction raid them.
    - Removed the note stating that standing next to someone and not killing them for 30s is teaming
    - Removed the note stating that people aren't allowed to cap KoTHs together
    - Removed the note stating that people aren't allowed to grind together in mycelium/pvp lake
  • Rule #14 - Updated the amount of spawner boxes to 4 and removed the limit for the amount of blaze boxes a faction can have
  • Rule #16 - Added that you may not use scripts to farm class EXP
  • Rule #20 - Updated max base size to 10 x 10
  • Rule #23 - Added that you are allowed a max of 3 chunks of Finnsters/anti-nuke walls per side of base
  • Rule #25 - Updated the rule to allow 32 walls on a cannon box and 48 walls on buffer cannon boxes
  • Rule #27 - changed the rule so that you are allowed one cannon/box per side of your base
  • Rule #30 - allowed autoadjusts
  • Merged anti-raid claim size Rule into #26

Pocket Pets

Pocket Pets are useful pals that have their own unique abilities that can be activated. Upgrade your pets to increase the effectiveness of their abilities and reduce the cooldown timers.

There are 15 Pets to collect, and they can be obtained by spinning for a random Pocket Pet with Mobcoins in /pets. More information about each individual pet will be available in-game using the command /pets.

Classes

Introducing our new Class system! At the beginning of each map, you will have the ability to choose a Class. Once you have chosen a class, you will be able to obtain EXP that allows you to upgrade to the next level. When you upgrade to any level, you will receive a token that you can spend to unlock different abilities for that specific class.

If you want to change your class, you will be able to, however you will lose all your old abilities and will only be given half the EXP you initially had, allowing you to instantly purchase some of the abilities you want in your newly chosen class.

You will be able to gain EXP in a variety of methods which include; killing mobs, killing silverfish, custom fishing, custom mining, breaking logs, levelling up mcMMOs, completing /ArchonPass levels, taking part in Curses, securing Envoys, killing Bosses, KoTHS, LMS, FVF events, active playtime, and placing blocks.

We will be releasing Classes in the upcoming map with 3 initial classes containing 7/8 abilities each. Some of these abilities will require a certain level before they can even be purchased to be unlocked.

A few of the abilities will be permanent abilities, however majority of them will be abilities that can be used followed by a cooldown. You will be able to view the details of these classes in-game with /classes.

In order to keep this release post as short as possible, we will refrain from providing details on the exact specifics of the class abilities however they are designed to be unique and wild. You'll be able to activate your abilities via a specific item in your inventory/hotbar which will allow you to choose the ability you want to activate before being activated.

Adventures

Introducing Adventures to Factions! Adventures is a vanilla survival world that is separate to the Factions worlds, where you will have a completely separate inventory. This feature is widely used on other realms on The Archon, and we're excited to incorporate it here on Factions.

In this continuously expanding vanilla survival world, you can explore and complete a wide range of challenges that gives you awesome rewards in the Factions main world! Access the challenges and adventures world, do /adventures. In this menu you will also be able to see what the current dimensions of the survival world is and when it will next expand.

There are 3 types of challenges you can complete - daily, weekly and normal challenges. Challenges consist of a variety of different things such as finding/mining a certain amount of items, catching fish, farming and more! When you've completed a challenge in Adventures, you will be able to claim your prize in the main world. Rewards will consist of spawners and more!

McMMO

We will be introducing back McMMo PvP! There will no longer be a level 1 cap on the mcMMO activities of Swords, Axes, Unarmed and Tamed. These will all have a new mcMMO level based on how powerful their abilities are in an effort to ensure these abilities are balanced.

We will be nerfing the amount of levels given out from mcMMO Pouches to ensure they are not used to easily obtain the more OP mcMMO activities. We will also be buffing the custom mcMMO rewards given out while fishing or woodcutting.
