Factions: Onyx Christmas Reset

Greetings everyone, the festive season of Factions Onyx is here!

Realm Information

The Christmas Onyx map will release on Sunday December 26th @ 3:00 PM EST / 7:00 AM AEST / 8:00 PM GMT.

The map will only last 7 days which means there will only be 1 payout which will be issued at the end of the map on Sunday 2nd January @ 5PM EST.

• 7 day map – 3 days of grace & 4 days of TNT
• 5 man factions
• 3 second cannoning
• 15 Chunk Buffers
• Faction Shields last 17 hours
• 900 Power per player
• Unlimited Roster Size, unlimited kicks per day, max of unlimited at one time
• Faction Shields are set on Wednesday @ 3:00AM EST
• Mining Spawner costs change from being free to costing 60% of their shop price on Wednesday @ 3:00AM EST
• TNT drop rates changed from Grace drop rates (50%) to Raiding drop rates (100%) on Wednesday @ 3:00AM EST
• Faction Shields are disabled from 12PM-5PM EST on Payout Days
• 5 grinding areas of 18 Silverfish Spawners in the Mycelium World (Reached & Exited via a End Portal)
• Account Sharing Allowed
• No Regens
• Sugarcane, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mycelium and Spawner Economy
• The ECO sheet can be found here
• Limited Custom Enchants & Bow Boosting disabled
• $1,600 F-Top - $1000 Paypal & $600 Buycraft
• 9 custom worlds along with the overworld with a border of 2500 x 2500 giving 40 corners – These can be reached with the warp names: End, Nether, RedWorld, GreyWorld, ClayWorld, SunWorld, DarkWorld, CherryWorld & CrystalWorld
• During grace, TNT & Creeper Eggs will be disabled
• During the first 30 minutes of the map, Faction Fly will be disabled

Faction-Top Payouts

For this season of Onyx, payouts will be issued at the end of the season. Here are the prizes for the payout placings:

• First Place: $750 PayPal & $250 Buycraft
• Second Place: $150 PayPal & $150 Buycraft
• Third Place: $100 PayPal & $100 Buycraft
• Fourth Place: $50 Buycraft
• Fifth Place: $50 Buycraft

Note: FTOP will be paid out once per week that raiding is enabled. The amounts listed above are the total amounts we are giving away to the winners.

How do we get our payout if we win?

1. Set your PayPal email on the server with the command: /paypal [email]
2. Set your Buycraft email on the server with the command: /giftcard [email]

Christmas Map Information

To celebrate the Onyx Christmas Map, for this map only, everyone will receive a rank equivalent to top rank and a kit containing Protection 6 Unbreaking 6 armor!

To ensure alts are not used to obtain a lot of these armor sets, you will be required to complete a small number of challenges in the /pass to obtain the rank and kit. Normal ranks, tags, disguises, monthly kits and custom ranks / kits will still be available to those that already have them, or purchase/obtain them in-game.

Here are a list of raiding changes being made for this map:

• You will be allowed a 1 chunk source block ocean per side of your base as shown on our rule page.
• You will be allowed defences for your buffer cannon boxes for up to 80 blocks instead of the usual 96 blocks as shown on our rule page.

Map Length Changes

Due to this upcoming map of Onyx beginning on a Sunday, we've reduced the season length to 7 days. Here's what has been changed as a result:

• The timings in /grace will be modified to fit the new schedule.
• Scheduled times for Raid Events and prizes will be changed.
• We will be changing our spawner percentage system resulting in spawners gaining 10% of their maximum /F Top Value every 24 hours until it reaches 20%, where spawners will then gain 10% every 3 hours until it reaches 100%. This means it will take 3 days for your spawners to have their maximum /F Top Value.

If the Admin Team believes that a change is needed to help promote raiding, the they will make a decision for all the below changes to decide if the change needs to be made or not. This decision will be announced in the Leaders Discord (https://thearchon.net/Leaders) so ensure your Faction Leaders are in this Discord. Where appropriate, an Admin can help make the changes required.

• Friday 31st December @ 5PM EST - Removal of the 1 chunk source blocked oceans

Economy Changes

The economy is a vital part of Factions, so be sure to read up on the best ways to make money in the Christmas map on Onyx:

• We will be running a Sugarcane, Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing alongside Mycelium (Silverfish) economy with Silverfish even better than normal when compared to the other economy options to ensure the map is more PvP based.
• Sugarcane's sell price will be $30.
• Netherstars' sell price will be $13,000.
• The price to sell fish will be changed to match Sugarcane in the Safe Lake.
• Wood Logs will sell for $700. The buy price of Wood Logs have also been increased as a result.
• The amount of items dropped from mining an ore in the Mining world will be 27.
• Cactus will sell for $0.
• The amount of money the holder of the Faction Outpost will make every 30 minutes will be $115,000,000 during Grace and $50,000,000 during raiding.

Additional Changes

Last but not least, here are a number of miscellaneous changes:

• The Faction Roster Size will be unlimited and there will be no limit on the number of kicks allowed.
• Due to the above, we will be allowing Account Sharing and therefore will not enable our plugin to limit the number of IPs allowed on an account.
• We will only be giving Faction Points to the players in the faction (This does not mean roster) at the end of the map.
• We will be decreasing the shield length to 17 hours.

The limited time Christmas Present Dungeon will be available from now until December 27th so show that you're the most festive player this holiday season and grab one while you can! You can find it in the Dungeon keys category on shop.thearchon.net.

Your Christmas Present Dungeon could contain a special Snowman disguise, Snowflake wings, the highly desirable Santa Rank or the CandyCane or Snowy titles!

Santa's Helper Event

Santa is working hard in his workshop making lots of presents before Christmas arrives, but a bunch of his trusty elves have gone missing! He needs your help in finding and returning the elves or no presents can be made, and Christmas will be cancelled!

Every hour, on the hour, Santa will announce in chat that he needs your help. You'll need to locate him at spawn to begin your task of finding the lost elves.

You must be fast, as Santa will only need your assistance for 15 minutes and will no longer accept help when it's over 15 minutes past the hour. Your task is to locate all 10 of the senior staff elves around the server and return them to Santa to receive your reward!

This challenge will be tough, as only 1 player can find one elf at a time, meaning elves will disappear and reappear in a different places whenever someone finds one. You'll also need to find 10 unique elves, you can't locate the same one twice!
